Ham Member Lookups: 18888

Hi there!

Licensed since 1991, I primarily enjoy radio contesting as a single operator from home QTH or in Multi-Single efforts from N1MM or W1TJL.  I am a member of the Yankee Clipper Contest Club and operate prefix contests/Field Day with a local group of hams under the name of Central Connecticut Contesters or Murphy's Marauders re-deux.

Station: I have a "Little Pistol" station at my QTH.  Antennas are... 20M-10M - SteppIR at 52 feet; finally added a new mast and the M2 2el 40M beam at 62 feet, and use an inverted vee for 80M.  Still need to construct a 160 antenna - maybe a K6MM helical-wound vertical ( I don't have any tall trees).  I also have a Cushcraft R-7000 vertical which allowed me to get DXCC in my early days as a ham.

I use two FT1000MPs with key click mods and INRAD roofing filters; YCCC SO2R box, and for the rare times I operate HP I use an SB221 that I modified with parts from Harbach and QSK kit from W7RY.  I like to homebrew and tinker with electronics using my very modest set of test equipment.

QSLs:  I upload to LOTW on a regular basis and promptly answer direct QSLs.   I have been responding to Buro QSLs when I get a batch that makes it worthwhile but with the change in prices at the ARRL Outgoing Buro I am reconsidering any use of the BURO.  I don't use eQSL at this time.

Hope to work you in an upcoming contest!

73,

Rich, N1IXF
