I have always been interested in electronics.  I trained in avionics with the US Navy and left as as an Aviation Electronics Technician First Class in 1980. I then worked for the Beechcraft aircraft company as a Communications and Navigation Technician for a while before entering another career path.  I enjoy Amateur Radio with its many areas to explore and in which to meet interesting new people.

My main interests are in the digtial modes, but my fascination with CW endures.  I hold SKCC number 8886T.  If we make a straight key contact, I will be using the R. T. Johnson Speedex with which I made my first ever QSO with WA4HGN soon after receiving my ticket.  I used the same key to make my first EME contact with W5UN.  There have been many, many logbook entries since then, but each new QSO is still exciting.

I upload my logs to LoTW and to eQSL regularly, and I treasure the paper QSLs I have received over the years.  I still have them all.
