Digital modes are my favorite method for making contacts near and far.  Lately, I've been working 80 meters through 17 meters with PSK-31, JT65, and FT8 using WSJT-X with JTAlertX, JTDX. For rig control, I swap between Digital Master (Ham Radio Deluxe) and Log4OM.

All antennas are homemade: 80 meter doublet at 65 feet, 40 meter dipole at 45 feet, 6 meter dipole at 35 feet height, 2 meter/70 cm at 35 feet. Everything is a work in progress and subject to change!

(above) Yaesu FT-8900R w/Astron RS-12A and Workman SK-144/430.  This 2/6/10 meter and 70cm rig is mostly used for 2 meters.  There's a MFJ-969 tuner for this rig.  Alinco DR-1200 for 2 meter packet radio with MFJ-1278 and AEA PAKRATT 232MBX for TNCs. The wireless weather station was bought new for $15 on Craigslist!

(below) Yaesu FT-450D w/Pyramid PS-26KX,  MFJ-969, Workman HP202S, and Yaesu SCU-17.  Middle left shows the 1947 VibroPlex and Skillman Deluxe key (just outside the photo). There's also a Bencher and Vibroplex Racer, both dual paddles. Ham Radio Deluxe is the software that operates the FT-450D.

(below) Woody lends a "helping hand" carrying a PVC pipe as he joins a group of volunteers loading up a trailer with plumbing fixtures from a closed fish hatchery.  July 9, 2016 was a sad day at the home QTH; Woody's cancer came back to take him from us.  He was a great hunting dog for upland bird and waterfowl, smart as a whip, and had fun at every opportunity he could create.  We will miss him.
