Hello and thanks for stopping by....

I'm a ham who was married to a ham, Connie (N2ATJ). Sadly, Connie became a Silent Key, due to a stage-4 glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor on September 22, 2013.

I'm into aviation (private pilot), computers, ORACLE, AOPA, QRP, MySQL, photography, traffic handling, public service communications, and Life Member of the ARRL, the national association for amateur radio and AMSAT, the amateur radio satellite corporation.

Most recently, I was interviewed by Eric, 4Z1UG, for his excellent QSO Today podcast site. Here is the link to the interview, which "aired" on 10/29/2016:   http://www.qsotoday.com/podcasts/n2gj

I'm sorry to report that my website is offline for the forseeable future. My ISP was acquired and the new owners arbitrarily disposed of all the content.

Stan Horzepa, WA1LOU, wrote a nice article about my former website in his ARRL feature "Surfin'":

My photo galleries can be accessed at: http://www.gjurrens.com

I am a member of all the afore-mentioned organizations, plus the David Sarnoff Radio Club (N2RE) Princeton, NJ http://www.n2re.org ; I am a member the Delaware Valley Radio Association (W2ZQ) West Trenton, NJ http://www.w2zq.com ; a former member of the Raritan Valley Radio Club, one of the oldest continuous radio clubs in the nation (W2QW) http://www.w2qw.org ; the New Jersey QRP group (www.njqrp.org) and the Princeton Emergency Radio Club (N2ARC) http://www.gjurrens.com/oragallery/N2ARC . I have served as the communications liaison to the American Red Cross of Central New Jersey in Princeton, NJ, the lead chapter for disaster services in the state. I was active with Mercer County ARES (Assistant Section Emergency Coordinator in SNJ) and RACES for over 20 years.

I am a graduate of Rutgers College (at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey), with a Masters Degree from The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College Graduate School). I am a Certified Technical Trainer retired from Oracle University (December 2014) as a senior principal instructor, training our customers for in Data Warehousing, Enterprise Data Quality, XML, Data Integration, Oracle GoldenGate and other Oracle software topics. I have been doing post-retirement consulting with a number of firms since leaving Oracle.

I sold my QTH (45 years there) in Kingston, NJ on Dec. 1, 2017 after purchasing a new home in Albuquerque, NM on Sept. 30, 2017.  I moved to the high desert to live with my girlfriend, Susanne, who is not (yet?) a ham! I don't have any ham equipment on the air yet from the new QTH, but I'll be setting something up, probably first thing in 2018. I'm also interested in becoming involved in one or more radio clubs here, as well as ARES and Red Cross.  Any referrals will be welcome.

I can be followed on TwitterLinkedIn and Facebook

Member SKCC #5906 ARCI #11256 and NAQCC #3437. I'm a Life Member of the ARRL, AMSAT, and 10-10 International #11540).

73, and see you on the ham bands!
