I'm Mario, N4MAR. Welcome to my page..
I was first licensed as KJ4RHB in December of 2009 as a Technician. Upgraded to General class a year later and finally changed to my current call sign of N4MAR on August 9, 2014.
For me, Ham Radio is one of the greatest hobbies in the world. I love every aspect of it. From meeting new people around the globe, to the many different specialized areas of the hobby.
My favorite parts of Amateur Radio are APRS, PSK-31, JT-65A, Yeasu Fusion, D-Star, QRP and occassionally some DX and Contesting. However, my interests go way beyond those modes. I dabble in a little of everything so to speak. You'll find me on VHF/UHF most of the time and occassionally on HF when time permits.
For HF: Yaesu FT DX-3000, FT-897D, Elecraft KX-3 with PX-3.
VHF/UHF: Yaesu FTM-350, FTM-400DR, FTM-100, FT-1DR, VX-8R. Icom IC-92AD. Kenwood TH-D74.
APRS / Yaesu Digital
I also run a local APRS iGATE (N4MAR) in Columbus, Georgia along with an attached weather station (N4MAR-1).
In addition, my local Yaesu Fusion Node (N4MAR-NODE) is connected via the local W4CVY 442.200 repeater, providing Yaesu Digital coverage to the surrounding area.
Other interests of mine include computers, electronics, photography & video, hiking, camping and cycling. I also tinker on various DIY projects around the house from time to time.
Feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance or if you just want to ragchew on the air.
