Greetings from Huntsville, Alabama, otherwise known as Rocket City, home of the Saturn V rocket, Hubble Telescope, US Space Camp, and a lot of other spacey stuff!

I was first licensed in 1967 in Oak Ridge, TN as WN4KKA, later upgrading to WB4KKA.

I came to Huntsville in 1974 and upon graduating from Tenn Tech University in 1978 went to work for NASA as an electrical engineer.  I retired from NASA in 2010 but have since returned to work part-time at my old job as a contractor. It's hard to get get rocket-building out of your system!

I have served on the hamfest committee for the Huntsville Hamfest since 1985 including the years that we hosted the ARRL National Convention in 1997 and 2009. Although I don't have a "big gun" station, I have spent most of my time chasing DX and playing in "low impact" contests.

My station consists of an Elecraft K3, Kenwood TS-940 and Ameritron AL-82 amplifier feeding wires and a TH7 at 55 feet.. My sentimental station from high school days consists of a set of B-line Drake twins and an SB-201 amp. In spite of the modest equipment I have managed to achieve 5BDXCC and around 300 countries confirmed.

I'll always owe untold thanks to Bill K4LTA and Mel K4PJ for mentoring me in the ways of contesting from an early age and to my best radio buddy Tim K6AX/WB4DGI for getting me into this great adventure!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to meet you on the air!

73 and may God bless!
