I was first licensed in the fall of 1971 as a novice, WN5GHV.  My first station was a Heathkit HW-7 CW QRP transceiver that my wife and I built as a kit while we were stationed in Okinawa while I was in the Army

My present equipment includes a Yaesu FT-991A, a   Icom ID-51A and  ID-5100a, Kenwood TH-D74a  D-STAR radios,  two TYT MD-380 DMR HT’s, and a TYT MD-2017  DMR HT, and a  box full of older Yaesu, Icom and Baofeng HT's

I am heavily involved with DSTAR and DMR. I have multiple digital hotspots running at any given time. I have a Raspberry PI with a DVmega board in my Jeep as a mobile DMR and DSTAR hotspot . I have a Raspberry Pi based APRS Igate in my home.

I am active on HF, PSK31, LEO sats,  D-STAR, APRS, System Fusion,  and DMR. I was on the K2BSA Staff at the 2013 National Boy Scout Jamboree.  Myself, and my wife, KA5LGJ,  were on the 2017 National Jamboree K2BSA  staff as well.
