Born George Albert Hancock on 29/May/1941 in Cleveland, Mississippi. Graduaded from Cleveland High School, Delta State University, Jackson State University with 30 hours post graduate work at the University of Southern Mississippi. Majored in music education and secondary education. Now retired, I was a high school band director for 28 years.

I am married to the former Mary Ann Little of Grenada Mississippi.We have four children, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. My son, George Jr. is licensed as K5GAH.

First licensed as KN5HPV in 1956, I enjoyed 20 meter CW and 80 meter AM during my teenage years. College and making a living took me away from ham radio. I re-entered the hobby in 1985 licensed as N5LBU, AA5CI and now N5GH.

I enjoy working DX and calling the Magnolia Section Phone Net on Monday morning at 12:00z on 3.862.50 MHz. I have DXCC on 10-12-15-17-20-30-40-80 and 160 meters. I have confirmed 340 active entities  for Honor Roll No. 1 for a total of 344/340. Honor Roll on Mixed, Phone, RTTY and CW. My current DXCC Challenge total is 2612. I have 5 Band WAS (#2754), WAS on 160 (#757), 5 Band WAZ (#1435), 160 WAZ (#218), QRP DXCC and VUCC on 6 Meters.

I am a member of the 599 DX ASSOCIATION.

Kenwood TL-922A Amplifier, Yaesu FT-2000 Transceiver, Yaesu MD-200A8X Microphone, Yaesu SP-2000 Speaker, Yaesu DMU-2000 Data Management Unit, Yaesu MTU-160 & MTU-80/40 RF u-Tuning Unit, Converted Ameritron Amp for 6 meters,  Rig Blaster Pro and the Dell Optiplex GX240 Computer. Software: Win-EQF, MMTTY, DigiPan and RxClus.

My Tower and Antennas:

Rohn 25G 92.5 Feet, Cushcraft X-7 Big Thunder 10-15-20 Meters, Cushcraft A3W 12-17 & 30 Meter Add On, Cushcraft A505S 6 Meter 5 Element Beam, Inverted "L" for 160 Meters, Flat Top Dipoles for 80 & 40 SSB, Inverted "V"  Dipoles for 80 & 40 CW and Four Beverage Antennas for 160 Meter Receive.

PLEASE NOTE! Any DX station that sends to me a self addressed envelope with your qsl card requesting my qsl card for our qso, I will supply the return postage. I prefer this method over the bureau.
