Greetings to each of you from the Amateur community here in Russellville, Arkansas!

Just a little information on myself for those interested..

I was first exposed to the world of radio via the military 1970-72 serving as a RTTY operator, 226 Signal Company, 8th Army, Korea. When standing by on the net I would tune down on the amateur bands with a spare receiver and listen to all the chatter. It created that first spark to becoming a Ham. My first ticket was in 1986 when I operated with the call KB5BDX. A few years later I passed my Extra class exam because that "one station" I needed was out of my priviliges. I stay active in our local radio club and the local RACES. My main interest is HF DX and some contesting but recently have been interested in the digital modes.

Also check out our local club website, http://www.arvarf.com/. We are an ARRL Special Service club, promote the ARVARF Hamfest, provide classroom teaching of radio theory to interested persons, Field Day, promotion of Amateur Radio during the Fall Fest event, provide communications for several events and did I mention Field Day. We love Field Day, radios and food what could be better. The club operates a VHF repeater K5PXP on 146.82-, PL tone 131.8 and a UHF repeater on 443.4+, PL tone 131.8. Its location is atop MT. Nebo.

Other interests: My XYL and I are active in our church, www.westsidear.org. Also being grandparents to our four grandsons plus the sweetest granddaughter. We are avid mountain bicycle riders and we travel a lot, getting to ride in different areas of the USA. The QTH is on Crow Mountain just outside of Russellville and are beekeepers, keep a few chickens for eggs and garden.

The area has  large lakes, streams, mountains and forests. If you are into hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, biking, hunting, boating or any other outside activity this is the place. http://russellvillearkansas.org/288/Visitors

God Bless
