I am from the Chicago Area and moved to the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho following my five years in the Army. I enjoy working 20 and 40 meters when I get a chance and can often be found either on local 2M club repeater K7ID - Kootenai Amateur Radio Society where I serve as Club Secretary. Over the last few years, I have been dabbling in digital voice modes including C4FM Fusion, NXDN and DMR.

I operate an All-Star Node (Node 44076) on local simplex 433.4000 MHz (CSQ), feel free to connect and say hi.

My kids and I enjoy club fox hunts with homebrewed 2M yagi made from paint sticks and coat hangers.

My primary radio at the residence is a Kenwood TS-2000 with a 6BTV "Flagpole" in the backyard to appease the HOA. I have close to 120 ground radials in place and have been very happy with the 6BTV performance. I also operate a Yaesu FT-857D and matching auto-tuner FC-30. Additional station equipment includes the following: Kenwood TM281A, Kenwood TK-981, Hytera MD-782, Icom-IC6021, Hytera PD-682G, Hytera MD-652G, Yaesu FT-1DX, Yaesu FT-8800R for local QSO. In addition to the 6BTV, I also have a HomeBrewed 20M 1/2wave attic-dipole, a 40/15M wired fence, G5RV Jr., and Homebrew 20m inverted V. Yes these antennas are up at the house despite the HOA. Additionally, I have been known to put up various temporary antennas in the backyard for field day or when I get bored, these can include a Buddi-Pole mounted on a 33 foot extendable painter's pole and homebrewed dipoles on military fiberglass masts.

Current projects include interfacing a foot PTT and boom microphone to the rigs, station power supply that has been troublesome, and building up some additional All-Star Nodes.

I work for a commercial radio communication company so I get to spend my day working with radios and such.

QSL cards can be received confirming QSL upon request. Paper Cards are available-Please send a SASE. eQSL is up and I try to confirm as often as possible, QRZ.com logbook is usually kept the most current. Also LoTW is being uploaded on occasion.
