Well after many years of chasing DX I wondered what I was going to do all winter since I am on the Honor Roll and 3 away from having them all. I saw that I needed about 70 confirmations on 80 meters and I would have 5 band DXCC so on December 15th 2016 my aniversary of 27 years with my lovely wife I started chasing countries on 80 . I turned in my 80 and 40 meter contacts in march of 2017 for my 5 band DXCC :) This was a challenge as I only have a dipole for 80 but damn was it fun.. Every night I worked a new one on 80 was like when I first started dxing ! Got the certificate and its very nice. Thank you ARRL for all you do .

I have been a ham since late 1978 or early 1979 I dont have a copy of my first License.

My first call was KA8FAL followed by N8CLJ shortly after I upgraded to General Class . I stayed a General for quite a few years then one day I decided it was time to go get the Extra Class Ticket ! (I wish id have gone sooner) . Then when the Vanity call N8DC came available (great cw call and my initials)! I went for it and I was lucky enough to get that call.

I am a cw operator and an avid Dxer. I made the honor roll after the accreditation of the 7O1YGF Yemen operation. A little earlier than that I was given a permanent layoff from my job of 31 years giving me more time for dxing and I worked 1 or 2 of the easier countries that I didnt have worked or confirmed. I had taken a lot of time off from radio after getting back into the Street Rod hobby and that cost me a couple rare countries .

Amateur Radio is a wonderful hobby . I have too many hobbies and I have actually scaled back my Street Rod building hobby to devote more time to radio. I still ride my 2006 Harley Davidson Classic Motorcycle as much as time permits.

My shack consists of an Icom IC-7610 and a TS-2000 with an AL-1500 amplifier to a Dentron MT3000A tuner. That goes from the tuner to an A3S an A3WS and also switchable to an 80/40 fan dipole and a 160 Inverted L for the lower bands.

For 2 meters and 70 centimeters I have a Yeasu ft-8800 with a dual band vertical at about 53 feet and a 2 meter 10 element beam at 45 feet.

I have a 5 element 6 meter yagi at 40 feet and a 6 meter ringo near 50 ft .

You can qsl me direct but I must ask that you please include an SASE I also do LoTW and Eqsl.

The Station :)

I really need to clean up the wires :).. This a whole new operating desk I built over the winter (2011). More room and work space also . Its 3/4 red oak plywood stained with a gun stain and a coat of urethane to seal it from what ever it may encounter . So far its really working well and looks pretty good also. I also added 2 big 27 inch monitor's . I really like it :)

The latest shack pic. Brand new Icom IC-7610 and the TS-2000 and dual 27 inch monitors. I also run the TS-2000  in my Silverado pickup for Mobile operation and for my camping radio . I need to get a pic or 2 of the mobile / camping station.

What I really like is using the TS-2000 as my remote station and with remotehams.com RC Forbes software I can be anywhere and use the TS-2000 on HF ,VHF and UHF. I tested this setup summer 2017 from South Dakota and it worked flawless. It worked so well I have since sold my Little TarHeel II antenna as well as my FT-857. I really dont have a use for a mobile station now as well as this remote works !

Dual 27 inch monitors running the best logging program I have found to date  Logger32 and its abssoutely free ! No paying for tech support here as there are enough followers including myself that can talk you through many problems but you will be asked if you read the help file first Hi Hi. Oh ya free with a money back garantee . No shutdowns from bad reviews either. :)

The 7600 in the pic has been replaced with the new 7610 and what a rig.. Happy Happy Happy

The Antennas .................

The first 2 pics are of the A3s @ 50 ft and A3WS @ 40 ft and the 2/440 Vertical.

The second pic is of the other tower at the other end of the house with a 6 meter ringo a 2 meter beam.

Also if you look close at the first pics you can see the pulley holding the 80/40 fan dipole that really works great and the 160 inverted L .

The tribander and dual bander and 2/440 vertical antennas

I have also installed a 5 element Cushcraft 6 meter beam below the 13B2 and I need to update this pic also :)

This is what I really do best (build Hot Rods !

I sold this one for big money and ive made pretty good money on all the other cars I have built.. I still enjoy looking at the cars but money is short for building another car . If you are interested I can build one for you all it takes is cash :)..
