First of all please check out this VERY INTERESTING web site:

www.trunews.com

I first got interested in amateur radio at the age of 9.

I knew several local hams while growing up in Western Maryland (Allegany County).

My first radio was the Hallicrafters S-120 short wave receiver.

I got involved with the amateur radio club in high school but could not master the code.

Flash forward to 1992. After moving to Indianapolis with United Airlines,

a co-worker was studying for his no code Tech. ticket. I started

studying also and passed my test on the second try.

I passed the General class exam on 3/31/2011 (on the 1st try, hi hi ).

My current station consists of:

Home brew 2m / 70 cm J-pole,

6 through 40 meter "Mystery" inverted V di-pole,

Comet cha-250bx  vertical antenna,

Recently started using WSPR ver. 2.11 with SignaLink external sound card

connected to either my laptop or desktop PC.

Also, started playing with JT65-HF with same config as above.

Shack radios are: Yaesu FT-897d w/ MFJ-962D tuner,Yaesu FT-7900r, Jetstream JT-222M

Mobile radios : Yaesu FT-7900r, Yaesu Ft-857d w/ ATAS-120A screwdriver antenna.
