Ham Member Lookups: 703

I took the accompanying photo near my prior QTH in Hawai`i (notice the little dark spot to the right of center; it's a surfer paddling out at the world-renowned North Shore), and I especially enjoy working from seaside locations. Alas, most of my hamming has been in neighborhoods where I could use only indoor antennas, but it has made me a better operator.

I’m now using a Kenwood TS-590 HF rig and Baofeng GT-3 HT. Got my novice ticket in 1958 at the age of 13. Since then my call signs have been: K3DHX, W6PWZ, AH6LV, V73/AH6LV, N7EG, and the one I hold now. You can find me mostly on 20m, 15m and 10m on CW and SSB. I’m still amazed that a 100w signal—using just a piece of wire surrounded by wood, tile and metal ducts in my attic—can cross the ocean.

My other hobbies include writing and publishing, fishing, surfing, kayaking, motorcycling and investigating the nature of reality.

You can QSL me directly by mail, through eQSL.cc, or via the ARRL Bureau.

73, Bob
