I have been active in ham radio off and on over the last 30 years. I live in a housing allotment that limits my antennas to be out of sight in the garage which limited my HF contacts unless the propagation was extremely good. I recently acquired my Icom 9100 which will probably be my "last" ham radio. After reading up on D-Star I decided to purchase the D-star board for the 9100. I have been hooked on D-star ever since. It is great to work stations full quieting without all the QRM. My working background started in the funeral business. I always had an interest in electronics and while I was working in the Funeral Homes I went to technical trade school. I currently design monuments with CAD for cemeteries and I also operate a crematory which services the funeral homes in our local area. My hobbies also include target shooting, (yes with guns) music, playing guitar and bass(not at the same time). I live with my wife Dotty and my Golden Retriever "Matthew".
