New to Ham Radio and only have had my HF station online since December 2012. I took my got my Technician ticket in October and was so facinated with radio and electronics, I immediatedly upgraded to General and then Amatuer Extra in December.
I listen to 2M, 70CM and DSTAR locally while mobile. I have found radio communications facinating and a great way to meet others with similar interests. I wish I would have gotten started in Ham Radio earlier in life, but I was really never exposed to it by anyone.
I am running Kenwood 590s with an Ameritron 600W solid state amp onto a 40 meter G5RV dipole at about 35 feet. For now that is about as high as I can go. I have this antenna oriented generally in an East to West direction. I have also put up a 33 foot Zero Five vertical which with an MFJ remote tuner at the feed point. Awesome vertical, very well built works great !! I have had a lot of fun learning how to set things up and then making them work.
When not on the air, I enjoy playing golf and love to go fishing with my wife out of our Ranger bass boat.
Really have enjoyed the new contacts I have made, there are alot of good people out there on the bands! Thanks for looking me up and 73 to all .....
And Good Fishing too......
