BALCONY ANTENNA STATION: QRV from 160m to 70cm from a 6th floor balcony in Vienna.

Worked since Jan 11th 2015: 235 DXCC entities and 1151 bandslots in SSB with balcony antennas (160m - 70cm)

QSL via bureau or direct, regular upload to LoTW and Clublog
SWL reports are welcome too

Member of ÖVSV, DARC, ARRL, EUDXF

SWL between 1988 - 1998: got a Yaesu FRG 8800 receiver with 12 years and enjoyed receiving amateur radio, AM broadcast and utility stations.
Licenced since 1998: first used callsign was OE3HHB until 2005 (6m/2m/70cm) from my parents QTH in Lower Austria
active on HF bands:   2005-2010 using OE1HHB in Vienna (working either mobil or from former company clubstation)
break without HAM activity from mid 2010 - 2014
returned to the bands in January 2015 from new QTH.
I lost my previous electronic logbook so had to start counting again.

QTH:
Relocated to a new flat during October 2014. Now have a 10 m² corner balcony on the 6th floor where some smaller antennas are possible to temporary mount (just mounted when operating). I'm on a corner balcony, total opening is from 15° - 295° with some more or less free spots in direction 35-50°and 120°-130°, from 130°-180° higher buildings are 200-300 m away, 180-250° higher  buildings in 300-400 m, 250°-300 higher buildings in more than 1000 m.

Setup:
Transceiver: Kenwood TS590SG (since Jan. 2017), TS570D (previous used and now as backup) & Yaesu FT847 (2m & 70cm)
Microfon+Headphones: Heil Proset Headset
PA: Ameritron AL-811H running a half kW max. on HF + Linear Amp Gemini 2 running 250W on 2m

Antennas:
70 cm: 19 Element Tonna Yagi
2m: 6 Element Flexayagi
6m/HF-bands: using the MFJ-1979 vertical telescopic antenna, maximum extended length 5m/17ft plus MFJ-67 loading coil for 40 m band operation. As standard I use now the Chameleon Hybrid-Mini antenna base for multi band operation between 160 and 10 m, either with the MFJ telescopic vertical (2,5 - 5 m) or sporadic with a 17 m "down the balcony" wire vertical for the low bands. The MFJ-1979 antenna itself allows length tuning to lambda/4 between 6 and 17 m without the need of any further matching.

Chameleon Hybrid-Mini with MFJ-1979 for 160-10 m operation

Tonna Yagis: 2m/4Element & 70cm/9Element

6 Element 2m Flexayagi plus 1/4 wave vertical for 6m (View from approx. 160° to 230°)

Me with my 19 Element 70 cm Yagi after the IARU UHF Contest at October, 4th 2015.
Made 40 QSO with 14 grid squares (ODX: 478 km with UZ5DX in KN18JT)

40m vertical antenna: MFj-1979 telescopic antenna plus MFJ-67 coil

I use no Radials - just the metallic structure of the balcony (the house) acts as counterpoise.

MFJ-1675T mobile antenna for 80m ~ 2,2 m long on balcony.
1:2 SWR Bandwidth is from 3764 - 3796 kHz - with the ATU of the 570D
I operate 3700 - 3800.

occasionaly used 160/80m wire vertical
17 m wire connected to the Chameleon Hybrid-Mini antenna base.
