Thank you for visiting my QRZ.COM page and if you came here because of our on-going or previous QSO then TU FER FB QSO.

I'm a model -67 ham-operator, licenced in February 2012 and on-the-air producing QRM since March 2012 although with an almost lifelong interest and activity in DX-listening, CB, DIY radios, electronics design & construction, computer building and programming and lately also towards home automation.

My current station used for amateur radio and DX-listening is located about 50 m above sea level in grid square KP20JI (OHC 242) and made of :

I'm active mostly on HF from 80m to 10m bands using mostly digital modes but also CW and phone. During Es-openings and Aurora I also work upper bands 6, 4 and 2 meters.

Quite often I participate in the NRAU activity contests (10m/6m/4m/2m/70cm), not as much because of the contests themselves but because they tend to be more like casual on-the-air get-togethers for local hams.

I also enjoy the bigger and better known international HF-contests in just about any mode. Mostly I'm not there for serious point hunting but just to have some fun, give points to others and maybe catch a new DXCC every now and then.

QSL & SWL-report policy

I upload all my base station QSOs to eQSL.cc (AG), HRDLOG.net, QRZ.com and Clublog in almost realtime unless the Internet connection to the shack happens to be broken. Uploads to LoTW are made roughly once a week. I like to chase awards based on these electronic QSLs, so your reply would be very much appreciated.

All paper QSL cards sent to me will be answered unless the card says "no cards required", etc. and I send paper QSL cards on request both direct and via bureau. Bureau cards are collected from and delivered to our local club station that I tend to visit a few times per year so it will take a long time that way. Direct cards will be answered direct with a day or two of delay. There is no need to send envelopes, IRCs or money.

SWL-reports are very welcome and will be verified if found in my log (ie. please report only worked 2-way QSOs, not my CQs or unanswered calls and please include the date, time, frequency/band, mode and the callsign of the worked station in your report). Just as with 2-way QSOs, all valid direct SWL-reports will be answered direct with my QSL-card without the need to send envelopes, IRCs or money.

I'm a member in SRAL (The Finnish Amateur Radio League), local OH2AAV-club (Vantaan Radioamatoorit ry), EPC (#18017, area code FI.US.VA), SDXL (The Finnish DX-association), 30MDG (#5788), SKCC (#9754), DMC (#05876), Belgium Digital Mode Club (BDM# 3449) and Feld Hell Club (FH# 4780).

Other callsigns

OG50ARI is my special callsign valid from April 2016 to March 2018. It is a celebrational special call for my 50th birthday and various other things.

Buro paper QSL-cards to this call are kindly asked to be delivered via OH2ECG for minimum fuss and delay.

OF2ECG is my special callsign authorized by the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority for year 2017 in celebration of Finland's centenary of independence.

Buro paper QSL-cards to this call are kindly asked to be delivered via OH2ECG for minimum fuss and delay.

OH2-1839 is my SWL identifier, used very infrequently.

T-EFHK61 is the identifier of my ADS-B receiving station that feeds data from aircrafts near the Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Flightradar24. QRB from EFHK tower to this station is 11 km (6 NM), bearing 302 degrees.

Apart from ham-radio, I also work in local energy production industry designing, implementing, constructing and maintaining software, customized computers, automation and electronics, network and information security solutions etc.

I've also written and published some freeware software, some of which are ham-related and you may find useful:
