Here are some pictures taken from my garden (July 2017)....30° picture 1.....360° pictures 2 and 4.....320° picture 4. We can see the German hills of Aachen at the end of the landscape (picture 1).

I have also uploaded one of my most appreciated QSL cards I got when I was a SWL in 1971. Radio New Zealand really was very difficult to be heard in Belgium. It was a wonderful surprise.

Born in November 1949, I became a Germanic Languages teacher in 1975 and worked in Liège (east Belgium) in the same secondary school until 2010. I also studied Economics and taught Civil Rights (laws) and Financial Markets as well. My students were most of the time between 14 and 17. My home language is French.

I started as a SWL in the seventies with the callsign ONL-6048 and passed my ON2 licence (novice licence) in 1993. Six months later I passed my ON1 exam (VHF and higher) and became an ON4 (full licence) a few years later. My different callsigns were respectively ON2KPA, ON1LPA and ON4MPA.

My favourite band is 144 MHz SSB (17 elements, 70 watts + FT 726R). I’ve got a wonderful take-off to G, LA, SM, OZ and SP, being located 200 metres above everybody at the top of a hill (320 metres asl), a few kilometres north of the highest point of the country (Signal de Botrange) which is 700 metres asl. My amplifier and my preamp are mounted on my antenna. This gives a superb result.

I rarely work 144 MHz FM.

I also enjoy working 40 and 80 metres. In decametrics I use a TS 440S and dipoles (wires) and for 50 MHz a transverter from RN Electronics.
