Welcome to ON7NDR Belgium
  • Born in waarschoot 19 november 1966
  • at 8 years old ,listning to a old transistor radio from my dad carlos de roo
  • then received a walkie talkie at the age of 9 for pleasure , i heard other stations on this walkie talkie (27 mhz am)
  • i had to get also a full cb radio, that was actualy the beginning of my radio experience
  • at the age of 12 , after killing moms and dads ears , i had my first transceiver ever , a ham international viking
  • that periode (1978) cb was super populair here , everyone had one (base or mobile)
  • my shack was inside my bedroom, actualy my dv27 mobile antenne was mounted on a box of cookies....
  • then i have build some fm radio transmitters and did made experiment with tv i had found for el parts
  • after 1 year i had to leave belgium and i did my army duty in germany (cologne, koln)
  • then after army duty , i had to get a job....as everyone in the world i think (or you must be king or something)
  • i foud a job as steelconstructor and made many constructions intill now..
  • i found a girl at the age of 23, i fall in a endless love to nicole (wife)heart
  • i get married 1 year later , after a while my wife got pregnent and a daughter was present 9 months later.....
  • her name is lieselot de roo
  • then after some years i was upstairs on the ceiling and saw my old ham viking
  • o, yes i had to test it if it was still working...
  • then i connect the radio and found a groundplane for testing
  • i was officialy on on the 40 channel, but heard dx on channel 31 in fm
  • i was trying my best to made contact and yes it worked...
  • somebody told me about ssb , and that i could get further away...
  • a president george (mod) and a sirio 5/8 did the job
  • then i talk to on4ach (mark) and he told me to become better a real ham amateur for fcc and power and posibilities of ham bands in hf
  • i have taking a examen in 2004 for a smaller licence , i was then on2nd (not valid anymore)
  • i wounded to have the full licence , so did selfstudie and agn went to brussel
  • i had my full license in 2006
  • i wounded to learn cw (morse) , cw was not nessesary anymore however here (2007)
  • i started with zl1an teach software
  • after 2 months learning ,made my first qrs contacts with dl staions on 80 mtr band
  • now (2014) i can decode 25 wpm and send abt 22 wpm
  • still doing cw as much as possible

transceiver Kenwood ts 590 output 100 watt
for 40 - 80 inverted vee dipole abt 8 meter above ground surface
for 20-17-15-12-10 meterband i use 5 bander2 elm quad
