Hello I am Pat,
Being very passionate about CW. I do hope that this great art is never lost and would encourage anyone of any age to take time and effort to learn this very rewarding and enjoyable skill !
The above picture was taken while I was MJ/ON7PQ/P at Les Minquiers reef IOTA EU-099. Licenced in 1978, I was one of the youngest OM's in Belgium. First tranceiver was a FT-101E and some wire antennas. I obtained " very quickly" my DXCC.. After a littele longer time hi, my wall in the shack is now decorated whith the "most wanted" awards like: 9BDXCC - 9BWAZ - honor roll and so on... ( only need P5). I am very proud about it, because I did it all in CW ! My most exciting QSO in 40 years of DX'ing was KH6AT worked in Oct 2015 on 160 to complete WAZ on Top Band . I was calling CQ and Bryce gave me an answere . I could not believe my ears ! That was a BIG thrill ... Tnx agn Bryce .
Another hobby is racing with Italian motorcycles like Ducati, but thats another story...
