WHEN mobile, track me by APRS on

or through http://www.openaprs.net

News 2016: Getting more and more exited about QRP ; fellow ham OZ5XN Allan got me hooked on WSPR; currently building the QRP-labs Ultimate 3S transmitter for QRSS and WSPR. Intended to run unmanned on several HF bands in the future. Still into homebrew; Latest I added capabilities of PCB etching and fabrication @ home. Also customizing cooling profile on Elecraft Kx3 and adding Digimode interface (home built) to K2/100.

News 2013: Most of my ham activities nowadays focus around homebrew radio gear, CW contesting, and setting up remote CW skimmer stations in OZ, as well APRS digipeaters in OZ. I also teach license classes for new ham’s (class B/A and CW).

News 2012: Still active on APRS setting up multiple digipeaters in OZ-country in cooperation with the KissOZ APRX team, as well always tracked mobile. Recently changed my mobile rig from Kenwood TH-D710 to Yaesu FT-350… mixed experience; The 8-year older Kenwood still does some things way better than the newer Yaesu… like I was quite surprised NOT to find the FT-350 supporting Digipeater function at all !!! ???

News 2008: My mobile ODX Record was broken; 11,418 km's, logged on July 10th 2008, 06.55 UTC, in QSO with KH7XS on Hawaii, when driving in Central Copenhagen. Operating conditions: 100W from ICOM-7000, Sidekick antenna on hook mount.

Ham history: Born 1976. Became boyscout 1987. Attended first Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) around 1991 or 1992. Got totally hooked on amateur radio. With exeption of one year, have attended JOTA ever since. Became licensed (VHF/UHF rookie class) around 1994. Licensed Class A (HF QRO) with CW license in 2002.

Buisness side: Ex- Product Development Manager in mobile (cellular) phone industry, R&D. M.Sc.E.E from 2003 in RF Integrated Systems & Circuits from Aalborg University. IPMA-B certified (2011).

Memberships: Appointed NJO (National JOTA organizer) as WOSM representative for Denmark OZ, from 1999 to 2002. Member of ARRL (International). Member of OZ5W / OZ9EDR club, Member and co-founder of OZ5E Danish Contest Academy.

Particular Interests: JOTA, CW Contesting, small scale Expeditions / portable / mobile HF, antennas. Building electronics - anything related to ham radio. Home brew, Kit brew. I am a convinced diciple of the Elecraft religion hi-hi.

Still to do and learn: IOTA, RTTY, improve my CW skills, build my own 600-watt EB-104 transistor Power Amp. Want to go into Backpacker’s HF operation.

Default Rig, stationary: Elecraft K2/100 #6936, extensively modified for CW contest operation, all but one options added.

QRP: Elecraft Kx3 #1118 w/ options.

QRO: Acom 1010 PA, aka. “The Bulgarian Tractor”. Best bang for the buck; Can’t kill it, gotta love it!

Default rig, mobile: Icom IC-7000 (AB5N mic mod), with Outbacker OB8 Classic or High Sierra SideKick, trailer hook mounted.

SWL / RBN rig: Cross Country Wireless (CCW) SDR-4 1-30 MHz receiver, remotely operated in the OZ5W shack. CW skimmer feeding data to RBN:
