Welcome to my QRZ page!

My name is Mark and I am fairly new to HAM radio, received my first novice license on 26-01-2015 with the callsign PD9DB. On 09-03-2016 a week after I've passed the exam for the full license, I received my current callsign......

My main interest is HF, I try to work as much stations I can on as much bands that are technically possible for me. Besides HF I will be active on 2m and 70cm from time to time.

The equipment I use at the moment is:

  • TRX: Icom 756pro
  • Standard hand microphone
  • MFJ-929 Antenna Tuner when needed
  • Home made End Fed wire antenna for 80; 40; 20; 15 and 10 meters
  • SP7IDX Hexbeam antenna on a 12 meter high telescopic mast
  • Ameritron AL-80B amplifier
  • TRX: Icom 706Mk2G for 2 meter and 70cm as well as portable use on HF.
  • Baofeng UV-B5 handheld for 2 meter and 70cm.
  • Tytera MD-380 for DMR (70cm.)
  • Linked dipole for 40, 20 and 10 meters for portable use.
  • Home made portable End Fed wire antenna for 40; 20 and 10 meters
  • Travelloop magnetic loop antenna (40 - 10 meter continuous) from PD7MAA.

You can find me on the various HF bands, QRV on the repeater PI3ZLB (analog). I'll try to participate in the SOTA program as much as possible...... As a hunter / activator.

In september 2017 I have reached a 1000 hunter points in the SOTA program which makes me a so called "shack sloth". Below is the award in front of my 756.....

I really like to send and receive QSL cards. You can send direct or via the Dutch QSL Bureau! When sending a QSL direct, you do not have to include $$! (YOU don't have to support MY hobby) SWL reports are welcome but must state the callsign of the station I've worked.

PLEASE NOTE: My QSO's when working portable or from abroad will NOT be confirmed via LoTW/eQSL. Only via direct/bureau!

Hope to meet you on the air! 73'

And the forecast..... ;)
