I've been playing with radio's and 27Mc since i was a kid, and i'm a ham since 1996. Finally real radio's wink

Interests on radio

I'm mainly running digimodes. The main program for that is fldigi, running on Debian Linux. Besides that, i'm experimenting with wire-antenna's. Currently i'm using a lazy quad for 80, 40 and 30 meters and a home-brew vertical for the higher bands. Higher positioned so better reception should be possible. You can keep track of my experiments on http://pe1rik.wordpress.com

  • Main radio: Yaesu FT-450
  • Yaesu FT-817
  • Icom 706
  • AKD 2001
  • Yaesu VX-3

  • G4ZLP usb minipro, used for fieldday, holiday...
  • G4ZLP Digimaster PRO+

  • Homebrew vertical from an old 27Mc antenna for 40-10 meters.
  • Lazy Quad for 80/40/30 meters. Very NVIS-style antenna but working fine.
  • End-fed monoband for 20 meters and GP for 40 for fieldday / SOTA

Besides all the activities from home, i like to travel from time to time to some summits and activate digi-mode from there. On the summit's i'm using the FT-817 and the minipro interface. The results of the activations can be found at http://www.sotadata.org.uk
