Main radio interests are 80 and 40m and VUSHF.

Picture above showing my start on 70cm EME in the November part of the ARRL contest using two homebuilt 25 element yagis designed by DG7YBN http://www.dg7ybn.de

Built 4 of these antennas the past summer but limited antenna height made me choose to only use two of them to be able to work with 50 degrees’ elevation.

During the October part I used the same antennas but heavy rain and wind made the VSWR at 1.7 so not so many stations worked and the small tripod fell over twice in the high winds too.

Power was approximately 600W and preamp some 0.34dB Nf.

During the contest I worked in total 31 QSO's and a few stations with similar setups like KA1GT and LU8ENU.

Outside the contest the smallest station worked so far was SM7GVF with a single yagi and 1KW

Hrd my own echoes at strongest -12.6 dB in JT echo mode.

Planning to build 4 more and use 8 of these for a more permanent setup.

For 80 and 40m I use a full size 80m vertical with switching matching networks for the whole 80m band and 40m.

Planned to use three phased verticals for 80 this winter season but time was not available at that time so a single vertical will have to do the work one more year.

Have about 80 radials in different lengths from 20 to 40 meters with a very wet ground but some similar high trees surround the antenna which is not optimum but acceptable.

Used to work a lot of JT65 on 80m a few years back which is an excellent mode for DX on 80 but too much activity in EU and from time to time a bit poor behavior from some EU operators makes it difficult to work DX on JT nowadays.

Lives on the countryside with only one neighbor and no powerlines or other RF polluting crap makes the QTH very quiet and the very limited QRM I have, I generate myself in my own home.

Other interests are Amerikan cars from the 50's and I have a Buick model 46R 1958 as driver and a Cadillac coupe deville 1958 under restoration.

QSL is OK with through buroe, Direct, LoTW and EQSL.

See you on the screen or here you in the headphones.
