VA3BL is my 2 letter call added in December 2009, replacing my original call of VE3OBP which is now used on the former VE3PDX repeater on 147.345 and also on the UHF D-Star repeater covering Burlington & Oakville Ontario on 442.0625 as VE3OBP-B.

Due to the demise of AO-51 along with the SSPB downlink repeater system, my sat ops are mostly confined to summer dxpeditions as part of my vacation or work travels. You can QSL via qrz.com contact info. Here are the most recent ones:

Summer 2011: Aug 16-19 US-VI on the island of St Thomas; Aug 1-7 FN04 on the trent-severn waterway in Ontario; Aug 12-14 FN05 near Lake Nosbonsing Ontario. Operated HF and SAT using my Barbados call 8P9NS in March of 2011.

Summer 2010: July 21-24 Manitoulin Island (Grid EN-85) on the arrow antenna and Martin River/Martin Lake (Grid FN-06) Ontario using the arrow in the canoe!

Occasionally active on HF however the noise in suburbs here often makes it difficult to hear anything. Below is my home station. The TS-50 has been replaced by an ICOM IC-718 feeding G5RVjr for 40-10m and an inverted L for 80m. Both HF antennas are home brew. The HF station is capable of PSK31 (usually on 10m & 20m) using a signalink usb. ICOM 2340 dual bander feeding a diamond X50 for V/UHF, Standard Gx3000 feeding a sinclair SRL310-C for 70cm & GMRS, and Motorola SM50 VHF link radio for VE3OBP echolink node. You can QSL via bureau (slow) or direct to me using the address here at QRZ.com
