Well it's time for another update.  I figured I'd organize this as my progression through the hobby, with the latest updates at the top and working backwords.  I recently moved from Stittsville which is a small suburb west of Ottawa out to the country in a little place called Ashton.  With this move I've been blessed with a nearly non existant noise floor, with the S-meter regularly resting on 0!  This is a big change from the S7-S9 at my previous QTH.  It's a little odd giving 5 and 2 signal reports but amazing what I can hear.  I'm still running with the Alpha Delta DX-CC, and have added a Butternut HF-9V vertical.  There's also an 80M double bazooka waiting to be strung in the trees.  The Elecraft K2 is now used primarily for CW and Digital, with the IC-7600 taking care of voice duties.  It has a new friend in an Alpha 86 linear amplifier.  There's also a couple of WSPR beacons that I put on the air occasionally.  One is the SkyPi 40 which looks like it is no longer in production.  The other is based on an Arduino with the QRP Labs shield.  The SkyPi is about 500mW and the Arduino 250mW.  These are regularily heard in Australia on 40M some 16,000km away.

Early 2016

Well now that I've been licenced for a couple of years now, I should update my profile!  Wow what a great experience it has been since getting licenced.  I started out wanting to experiment as above, and have since discovered so many aspects of the hobby!  I pretty much dabble in everything from kit building, digital modes, CW, ultra low power and everything in between.  In 2015 I did my Advanced exam and in 2016 (yesterday as I write this) did my 5 WPM CW test.  Along with my K2, I'm also running an Icom IC-7600 into an Alpha Delta DX-CC up around 40'.

Late 2013 early 2014

New HAM licenced at the beginning in 2013.  Running an Elecraft K2 at 10W into a Carolina Windom strung up as best I can in my limited space.  Interested in improvised and home built antennas and low power man portable operations.
