Greetings from : Winnipeg Manitoba in central CANADA. I'm John VA4EEE.

I got my license in March of 2015 and started DXing in October 2015 so in some ways I am new to the Ham community but no stranger to the microphone.

I served in the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals Reserves from 74-78 and was a radio operator amongst other fine positions. Before the Army Reserves I was in the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets  for 6 years as a youth and did score 29 WPM in semaphore..[I'll give some of you a minute to google that..lol]

I did 40 years hard labour as a licensed mechanic and retired at 55. I did a stint of cab driving for 4 years in there somewhere in the late 80's /early 90's as well. I mentioned it because all communication was with 2 way radios and the dispatch had to sort through all of drivers piling in all the time. It definitely helped me find the rhythm for when to jump into the DX pile..lol

I Started by running a beauty of a gal my Ten-Tec Omni "C' type D with an inverted V dipole 38 ft up and have progressed rapidly up to a FT1000MP Mark V Yaesu and added a NA4RR 6 band hexbeam about 35 feet up. I also have an Amp Supply Co. LK 500 ZB. I am presently connected for PSK31 and HRD Controlling the radio.

In 2 meter i have an IC-P7A handheld and a FT2900R 75 watt mobile with a hustler 5/8 mag mount for the occasional mobile times.

73's and thanks for checking me out ,
