Ham Member Lookups: 2259

I fully enjoy the ham radio hobby, I belong to a small radio club in Medicine Hat. The club has two very good repeaters both with large battery backup systems, one provides very good local coverage and one that is a long range repeater, power failures are not keeping us off the air.  Stop by the club website and have a look around. http://www.mharc.ca  The club members enjoy getting out and volunteering at local events such as walks, runs and JOTA with the local Scouts. Doing events like these shows us how well we can work together. We have some very talented guys at the club.

We also have a few other repeaters in the area that are sponsored by myself and my brother Cam (VA6CWK) with equipment supplied by VA6KRK, VA6CWK and VE6NS. We enjoy setting up the equipment and playing around, It is always nice to have an extra repeater or two around to play with.

Ham radio has so many people from different spectrums of the world and from many different backgrounds. I enjoy learning something from everyone even if it's not ham radio related. Keep an open mind and surround yourself with the ham operators that provide a positive experience and a helping hand. Life is too short to waste you time hanging around with people who are toxic loud mouths and dont act there AGE!

Below is a couple of go boxes I have put together for field day, emergencies or just going out to have a little fun. We use these boxes for JOTA and they work very well.
