Greetings from Cold Lake, Alberta.

Currently operating a 2011 Kenwood TS-590S radio,   driving an Ameriton AL-80B amplifier (single 3-500Z tube), supplying approx 700 watts into a:   Mosley TA-53-M (three element beam at 50 feet).               For low band operation, running thru a Palstar AT2K manual tuner into a:   W5GI Senior Mystery multi-band wire dipole antenna (configered as an inverted V).

Moved up to Cold Lake, from Drayton Valley, Alberta in 1996 to take on work in well servicing, with Sure Flow Consulting, at Imperial Oil's Cold Lake, thermal cyclic steam stimulation project.

Experienced many up & downs in our industry:  1982 federal Liberal gov't National Energy Program. 1986, 1998, & 2015 / 2016 world oil commodity price crashes.    Hoping things will turn around for our industry, within the next couple years.

Currently my summer months, are spent conducting regulatory compliance tests on oil & gas wells, looking for errant methane gas emissions, & testing suspended / brackish water disposal wells for casing integrity.

Cold Lake winters last long time, looking forward to our QSO.

73.       Mike.

Concord Well Service Rig 155.  March 15, 2011.  Myself kneeling on the catwalk.  Rig crews are some of the hardest working people you'll ever meet. Ready to work with their coveralls on at 7:00 AM. Working outside all day long, tripping cold pipe at -25 C, always never fails to amaze me.

My summer work primarily involves pressure testing the casings of old suspended oil & gas wells, & the packers of brackish salt water disposal wells for integrity. Test pressures could be as high as 1000 PSI, as mandated by the Alberta Energy Regulator.

QTH.   Our 5 acres, right on the southern edge of the Canadian boreal forest region. Share our home with my XYL of 31 years, Colleen.

Spring of 2016 antenna project:   Mosley TA-53M @ 50 ft,    Alliance HD-73 rotator   on a Delhi freestanding tower w/ tilt over base. Tower wind loading good to 9.0 sq ft.     Also supported as an inverted V,  W5GI Sr. Mystery antenna w/ apex @ 47 ft.

My 2 youngest sons (Matthew & Daniel) and their significant others (Anna & Jillian). They make Calgary their home.

My eldest son David. He lives in the city of Cold Lake (pop 15,700). David spent a number of years working with me, conducting hundreds of surface casing vent flow tests during his tenure.
