I was born in Eastyork Ontario and raised in Cochrane Ontario. I moved to Scarborough Ontario due to employment reasons.

My QTH is in Scarborough Ontario Canada The house is situated near lake Ontario close to the Scarborough Bluffs.

I got my ham license back on 2013 and I just passed my advance in  2016.

I am a member of Toronto Amateur Radio Club, Toronto FM Communications Society, Rac, Arrl and ARES Canwarn trained.

I am also the president of the Toronto FM Communcations Society.

My occupation is working as an Electronics Technician specializing in communications for remote controls for cranes.

My part time occupation is working as a paramedic at concert venues. check out the website by googling medexems.ca or copy the following link, http://www.medixems.ca then click on passed events.

I am also the ARES net controllers for the GTA as well the EC for east Toronto area and also help out with Red Cross when needed. I have full capabilities from HF to UHF including the 220MHZ band.

I have a small 220mhz repeater system at my qth. The frequency is 224.600 - offset at 1.6mhz tone 103.5 hz. This system will be hooked into the Allstar link soon. This system is under test on low power at the moment.

I also have a Yaesu Drx-1 repeater running 25 watts. You can run both analog and system Fusion. Frequency is 444.900 + 5mhz offset Tone 103.5 hz.

My 220 mhz rig is an Alinco Dr-235 MkIII attached to a home-brew dipole antenna.

The Allstar node is hooked up to all the GTA nets.

My shack consists of the following:

Icom V8000 VHF radio an Icom IC-2820H duel band with d-star setup as a cross band repeater with a Diamond V2000 antenna mounted about 50 ft high. There is also a raspberry pie setup with a dv dongle that can be used for dstar gateway. I also make my own antennas.

My HF station consists of an Icom IC-7100 with an auto tuner and a Yaesu FT-897D with a LDG YT-100 automatic antenna tuner. I also own a Heathkit sb100 transeiver witch is in mine condition.

The HF antenna is G5RV Dipole setup as an inverted "V" 25 feet high.

I am a sysop on winlink email system. My Kenwood TH-72A is setup as a winlink station under ve3hjl-10 frequency  145.010mhz no tone. The email for winlink is ve3hjl@winlink.org or click at the top.

My systems show on the APRS website as VE3HJL or VE3HJL-10

For the van I use the following:

I have an Icom ID51A portable radio with d-star capabilities with high gain antennas that I carry with me.

I also have a Tytera MD-380 radio for DMR.

I have a mirage amp I use to drive the handhelds if more power is needed.

All my systems can run on emergency power when needed using backup generation as well as solar energy.

My other hobbies are hunting and fishing.

I Qsl by Eqsl Qrz,com, Lotw or direct. Lotw is uploaded on a monthly basis. Direct Qsls are sent out quarterly. Eqsl are uploaded instantly.
