I enjoyed cw traffic nets from the get-go with my 87 year young mentor/VE7BNI Tom guiding me through my first BCEN NCS in '93 when I got my ticket...
Although I knew code when Sputnik went beeping overhead just below 20 mcs

Bill W7GHT got me started on RN7; the first time I tried to qni it sounded like star wars to my untrained ears and the net was gone before I qni'd*:) happy happy -
Vic W7VSE was NCS and when they left the QRG, it sounded like they went to warp drive, all leaving in different directions, I just sat there soaking up the silence...

PAN is fun too and I have engendered many fast friendships with TCC folks; there is always a slot or two open, if only for back-up

I was on the marksmens team when in uniform, luckily I never saw active duty; just two years reserves 6th Field Squadron Royal Canadian Engineers in the fifties...

"Okay" my friends, see you on the air 73's
