Moved back to Canada in 2004 and while i retain ZL1OVY, also now am VE7OVY, a resident of Victoria BC.  I am a CFARS volunteer/member, my callsign for that is CIW203 (Canadian version of MARS)

To celebrate my 20th year as a ham i received a 2-letter call in Jan/06, VA7FE; which has special meaning as my grandfather (SK) was VE3FE. Jasper, i wish you were still with us!

Enjoy working mostly HF voice & digital modes also 6m, 2m & 70cm SSB. Enjoy rag-chewing and collecting a few boat-anchors.

Also play with APRS, a Shark Openspot and Mini-DV4 at home and a portable Openspot which I take on the road.  Also have an IRLP Node 1649 online, and its an Echolink node too.   Hand-helds to support my addiction to digial modes are FT2D; FT-70, CS-580, Kenwood D-74.

Arrow VHF/UHF Sat antenna on a tv rotator pointed about 30deg up for working Oscars.

Also run one of Dave VE7LTD's ECHO-IRLP embedded micro-node. IRLP node #1649 or VE7OVY-L on Echolink on 441.500 simplex 100.0Hz tone. It has coverage of about 10km radius of my QTH-most of Victoria; and reaches the northern shores near Pt. Angeles WA. Anyone who can access it is welcome to use it.

What i do for fun: Take lessons and attempt to play piano for relaxation.

Also hold the callsigns ZL1OVY & VA7FE & VA7ICV (my work)
