Update.. I have a web site... www.gorvn.com

Hello All,

I received my F Call in April 2007 and since then have enjoyed talking and meeting the many great Amateur Radio Operators.

My interest are, Camping, Trail bike Riding, my Family and now Amateur Radio.

Although I have always been interested in Radio, it was not until March 2007 that I found out about the new F License structure.

I hope to catch you around the air waves very soon..

As of 17-06-2008, I sat, passed and received my Standard License, you may remember my old call sign VK3FCLS..

After hitting the books, DVD's, and with much help from some great friends and my club the EMDRC, I managed to upgrade.

So I hope to hear you on a few different frequencies.

All the best, thanks for looking up my details and for the chat.

What's new as of late 2013...

Decided to purchase a Icom IC7000 seeing that I have noe been running my IC706MKIIg in my car for a couple of years and love the radio... So off to the local Ham Radio Shop to purchase a new IC7000... Got it home and hooked it up and loved it so much I decided to sell my Yaesu FT897D, which I sold in March 2014.

As of April 2014...

The new IC7000 does a great job and is also great when I take it on my Caravan holidays with my wife... much more compact.
I have it running through my LDG IT-100 Auto Tuner via the OCF 80M Dipole... and it does just fine..
In late March I purchased the SM-30 Icom Desk Mic for the 7000... works well...

As of July 2014...
My wife and I managed to get 5 weeks off work and with our two sons looking after our house, we headed off in the Caravan.. we headed north to Longreach in Qld.. What a great trip, the weather was perfect and I managed to play a good deal of HF Radio..

The above video clip shows off a recent holiday spent on a house boat called the Orlando which was on the Murray River, Murray Bridge South Australia, cruising to Mannum. I set up my Icom IC706MKIIG, with my 2M/70cm Whip and Famparc 5 band HF whip.. worked a treat, hope you enjoy the clip.
