Hi , Thankyou for looking me up. I have been a licenced for 37 years .
I live in the beautiful Macedon Ranges in the village of Woodend
My interests are in Digital Voice, Mobile operation and HF SSB I am currently experimenting with Codec 2 (Free DV)
Here's some photo's of my 7100 mobile I am a 7100 nut, I have two one in the car and one in the shack !
The SSV has two SO-239's on the back for VHF/UHF On the constructed frame, S0-239 for Diamond HF 40 & 80 CL
The spring mount is for multiband tap whip .
The system works really well on all bands except 6m, seems to go straight into IQ radio system
Very little noise generated by the car. Get a hybrid crank/deep cycle battery (mounted in the trunk/boot)
Never had a problem since. Dont forget to, many newer cars run CANBUS down power cables, they generate lots of noise
They live on the passenger side In close proximity to the Heavy DC cable, so on a Commodore you run your seperation cables on the drivers side (Australia) Other vehicles may be different but you need to know where the CANBUS cables are
And now the car is 5 years old...end of lease ...so ill be pulling it ALL out again .... stay tuned for the next great install
Hope to work you soon !!
