I have been interested in 50Mhz propagation since 1989 and listen most evenings and weekends.

I currently run 400w via high grade LDF5-50 heliax to a 6M9KHW at 50ft on 50Mhz. Due to my elevated location, I have an excellent take-off in all directions. At 12 degrees from the equatorial zone, I experience Trans-Equatorial Propagation and multi-hop Es regularly. The 49Mhz Chinese tv is in most nights and some 48Mhz indicators from Northern Africa / Middle East arrive via multi-hop Es across the Indian ocean many times throughout the year. Despite the decline in sunspots, 50Mhz is still propagating well and I hear many beacons and FM transmitters on 50Mhz regularly.

Active on HF since 1974 and 50Mhz since 1989.

I also monitor 28.074Mhz (FT8 mode) on a long boom 5el yagi.

If you are chasing gridsquare PH57 on 50Mhz, please email mail for a sked

I have a IC7700 and a IC756 Pro3 monitoring 30-50Mhz most days.

153 countries worked on 6mtrs with 146 confirmed smiley

Thanks for looking me up and good DX hunting.
