Sept 2017... Opps, About the past note  of tone on our 70cm machine. The tone should be 88.5. I deleted the past note. Big time goof?

We did our field day 2017 from a sheriff's auxilary building. It feels good to know we are accepted.

Side note...I don't know who made the blue words with the two under lines. So please ignore 'em.

Jan 2017.. .  We have installed a  new Yaesu "System Fusion" repeater. It now requires a tone of 146.2 for our 2 meter VHF. This brings us into the digital age with new modes available. We hope someone will explore these modes and present their efforts at club meetings.

Apr 2016. . . We are beginning a summer long intermentent SPECIAL EVENT. We are celibrating 80 years since our club was founded. You may find us on 20 mtrs or 40 mtrs on the third Saturday of the month as a club activity plus an occasonal private contact. Do the math and you will find our club was founded in 1936.

We have discontinued our Super Link connection. Please find them at St. Cloud, Fargo and other nodes in MN and ND.

Nov 2015. . . We have had a good year, we did field day, lots of good radio breakfasts at Sauk Centre and Alexandria. Stop in for a breakfast if you come thru on a Saturday morning. Sauk Centre site is the truck stop near the freeway I-94.

Nov 2014. . . We conducted the W0W special event in Oct 2014. It is our favorite, we have been doing since about year 2000.  If you worked us, Pls send for certificate.

June 2014. . . We conducted a special event for "Awake the Lakes". If you worked us, Pls send for certificate to address above.

Nov 2013. . .We conducted a special event in Oct 2013. If you worked us, we hope you sent for a certificate. (Certificate still available with SASE, Nov 2015).

We have been developing and reworking a web site. Please visit http://w0alx.org but forgive any constuction signs. (Wow, this is an ongoing prcess. Check us out!!!).

Mar 2013. . . Our Alexandria Runestone Amateur Radio Club was reorganized back in the 1970s. Our first call sign was WAØVVM. We received our current vanity call of WØALX in the early 2000s.

Our 2 meter repeater of 146.79mhz was installed in 1979. Since then we have added a 70cm repeater of 442.025mhz and a remote repeater of 147.255mhz at Sauk Centre MN. There are no tones on these machines (yet).

We also host a node for the midwest "Super Link". To access this link from our 2 meter machine use the 253 tones on your keypad. Then use your keypad tones to access your destination repeater. (I don't know where there is info on these nodes, so ask around our radio community).

We have no HF station as such but we do participate in every ARRL (Amateur Radio Relay League) FIELD DAY. We have also participated in WINTER FIELD DAY for SPAR (Society for Preservation of Amateur Radio). Feel free to visit our web site at http://w0alx.org for further info. We respond to all QSL requests from our field days.

One of our special accomplishments was a special event that commemorates the Discovery of the Kensington Runestone. We held the callsign WØW for a few days every fall for about 10 years. If you worked us we hope you got our QSL card or certificate.
