We're in a new retirement location now in beautiful NE Iowa and the only antenna I have up so far is my trusty Butternut HF9V  . Along with the new location I've also added a new Flex 6400, alongside the 6500 & Maestro.  I now am over 300 confirmed countries and am working on my 1500 DXCC Challenge medallion. You'll notice two ARRL Life Member plaques in the picture, as my XYL, Betsy, is now KE0GIC.   I QSL 100% on LoTW, as well as eQSL.

In 1968 after graduating university, I enlisted in the US Navy and was selected to become what was then called Communication Technician (now known as Cryptologic Technician) 'R' branch. During my tour of duty with the Navy I worked Manual Morse collection and traffic analysis for the Central Security Service, the military arm of another three letter agency that's recently been in the news...wink

I'm still primarily a CW operator, though I've been active on RTTY since back in the days of tubes and mechanical teleprinters...

I've been a private pilot, but my lovely vintage 1946 Aeronca Chief was destroyed in a windstorm in 2011, so now my other main hobby these days is driving my Jeep Wrangler JK that I've gradually been modifying since selling my Ural sidecar rig.

Primarily a DX'er you can usually find me on the low end of the bands, but if you catch me on SSB, I'll be glad to have a long ragchew anytime.
