W0NB is retired from the Radio Broadcasting Industry. He was licensed in 1955 as KN0AAH, and has also held the home-station callsigns K0AAH, W7AMP, W0KMN and KP2L.

He is a veteran of several solo IOTA excursions. His biggest ham radio thrill was to be one of the K5D Desecheo Island DXpedition operators in February, 2009. He was an original member of the KP1-5 Project which eventually negotiated ham radio access to Desecheo and Navassa Islands. He was a founding member and president of the Caribbean Contesting Consortium and until 2016 competed regularly as a CW operator at the PJ2T station at Signal Point, Curacao.

He is a member of the Eastern Iowa DX Association, NCDXF, and is a life-long ARRL member. He works mostly CW and loves Field Day with a local club. He is at the Top of the DXCC Honor Roll, and now chases IOTA islands. He lives at home with his XYL of 50+ years in rural Iowa near the Mississippi River. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and sailboating on the river.
