I first received my Novice ticket (KAØHWJ) in 1980 while in the 8th grade. About a year later, I upgraded to the Technician license. In 1998 I took the callsign WØTXT as an homage to the person who originally got me interested in Amateur Radio, Elmer Nederhoff KØTXT SK. In 2000, I upgraded to General and then upgraded to Amateur Extra in 2015. I changed my call in 2017 to KMØG.

My station is a Kenwood TS-590SG with a Butternut HF-9V vertical antenna. I mainly operate SSB at my home atop a bluff near Red Wing, MN, which helps my 100W get out. I recently started experimenting with JT65 and JT9. It is interesting to see how much 20W of power can get out and work the world. I am amazed at the breadth and depth of what this wonderful hobby has to offer.
I will QSL direct, and will return my QSL card for any that I receive. I also upload logs daily to LoTW, Club Log and eQSL(AG).
