Was looking for old friends and came across your call .. My first elmer who gave me my novice test back in 1966 also held the call W1CE .. I see you have him listed, Lewis K Scott .. It brought back old memories and thought you might be interested in knowing a bit more about him. When I knew him he actually had the call W1JBI but later asked for W1CE back in the 70's when extra class hams were allowed to request a 1X2 call. Before this there was no such program. He was an electical engineer by trade and worked for General Electric in Lynn Mass at least for a period. My dad (a non-ham) knew him well from when they were both in college in the Boston area and so thats why he hooked me up with him for Novice testing. For quite some time he was a CW traffic handler on several ARRL NTS nets. He was active in the local CD program and was a veteran of WWII. He was also a family man with several daughters, one of my age who I knew quite well. I'm not sure exactly when he passed on but beleive it was around 2001 and unfortunately the use of his hands had been affected prior to this and had pretty much kept him off his beloved CW. He was a skilled op with a bug or keyer.
So thats all I have ... thanks for keeping my friend and elmers memory alive.

73 and God bless
