First licensed as WN3CMN in 1955 at age 12, I enjoyed chasing DX and awards in my early years. Also handled message traffic on EPA, 3RN and EAN nets, operated as ORS and OBS, even played chess with the EPA SCM on 80m CW. Graduated from a kit-built Johnson Adventurer to be custodian of the local club's Viking II between Field Days, then got my own Viking Valiant in the early 60's. Went to college and graduate school, sold the Valiant, got married, had kids (two daughters, now both married) and drifted away from ham radio for 40 years. Got bitten by the bug again in April 2002 and thanks to Vanity I'm now back on the air with my unused 1969 call sign--W1EBI. I'm having a great time again DXing and contesting. Like the song says, "Love's more comfortable the second time around."

Station includes Yaesu FTdx-5000D and FT-920 transceivers, an Ameritron AL-82 amplifier, and eleven tree-supported wire antennas by Hy-Power: an inverted V dipole for 160, horizontal dipoles for 10, 12, 15, 17, 30, 40 and 80, and three for 20.

Member, ARRL, DXCC (Honor Roll), Yankee Clipper Contest Club, First Class CW Operators' Club, CWops, Northern California DX Foundation, INDEXA.
