Located just outside Columbia, SC on Lake Murray. Licensed in 1963 as a Novice, active and semi active since.

I enjoy CW primarily, contesting in particular and I'm an accidental DX'er (most of my DX totals have come from contesting) - I don't actively hunt DX. I enjoy handing out sought after South Carolina Counties.  I was very active in NPOTA, currently involved with World Wide Flora and Fauna, US Islands and Lighthouses On The Air in addition to operating in state QSO parties.  I am also active with the 13 Colonies Fourth of July operating event as part of South Carolina's K2L team.

Member, QSL Manager: Columbia Amateur Radio Club - W4CAE, Columbia, SC.

Treasurer, QSL Manager: Dutch Fork Amateur Radio Group - W4DFG, Little Mountain, SC.

Co-Founder, Professional Contesters Association: a loose group of highly unprofessional Amateur Radio Operators interested in contesting and mostly having fun.  The PCA is dedicated to the ideal of advancing the hobby through education and learning while doing.

Awards Chairman: South Carolina QSO Party Organizing Team.

I've started activity with World Wide Flora and Fauna in Amateur Radio activating WWFF sites here in South Carolina and Georgia. WWFF is an outstanding national/state parks program and the US system is adding islands, lighthouses and other sites that have significant relavance to the WWFF program.

I return QSL 100% even if I don't receive a SASE.  I prefer direct QSL (love getting hard copy confirmations). I do participate with LoTW, eQSL or W1 bureau.

Gear:

FT-450D, KX3, KX2 Little Taraheel High Power, HF, DMR and VHF mobile, MFJ QRP wire loop and various wire antennas. I like to operate QRP as I consider it a skill (not to mention a total blast) to make long watt-per-mile QSOs.

I'm always up for a scheduled QSO if you need a SC county.  We can make that happen.

I hope to meet you on the air.

Very best regards,

Tom, W1TEF
