Thanks for visiting my page and perhaps for some QSO's also.

First licensed as K1NYK in 1959, I just changed to this vanity callsign in honor of George Gallipeau, the original license holder.  He was one of my high school science teachers.  He got me interested in amateur radio which ultimately had a bigimpact on my engineering career.  George passed away a few years ago soI decided to keep his callsign alive and in use.

I enjoy chasing DX, HF contesting, homebrew construction, writing magazine articles, antenna work and the like. I'm a member of YCCC, the Yankee Clipper Contest Club.   I spend about the same time on CW as SSB and have just started playing with the FT8 mode.  The non-ham activities include traveling with my wife, enjoying the grandkids, photography, building furniture, etc..

The station here has an FT-5000, a TA-34 at 73 ft, TA-33 at 55 ft, a two element 40M delta loop, a 40M inverted Vee and another Vee for 80M.

I haven't had any paper QSL's since the early1980's but I do send all my logs into ARRL's LOTW, generally weekly.

I went to WPI and RPI and currently am a semi-retired metallurgical engineer working almost exclusively in aerospace.

My grid square is FN31ss and I am an ARRL Life Member.

I appreciate your taking the time to read this bio!
