QSL:100% REPLY TO QSLS RECEIVED.   We also use LOTW!!!

HF Equipment is a FTdx-9000D and Quadra Amp into Mosely MP-33N Tribander at 50 feet, a multiband Dipole at 50 feet or a 40M delta loop and an 80M sloper at 60 feet.

I also just recently changed my call of 32 years from WB2SZR to W2LPL.

Currently enjoying EME and trying to finish off my 5BDXCC. Still short a couple of confirmations ( LOTW) on 80M.

EME Station ( Moon Bounce)

144 MHZ

For 144 MHZ EME ( under my Sons call W2DBL) we are using a TS-2000 and a Lunar Link LA-200 into four InnovAntenna 9x9 LFAs. We are using the IQ+ with Map-65V2 for full adaptive polartity and Linrad with WA2ODO 25db preamps and the M2 S2 sequencer. We are also using two DCI 144MHZ bandpass filters.  Antenna gain is 18dbi and output power is 1.2KW.

We have made over 750 intials and 82 DXCC off the moon and counting.

1296 MHZ

We are now on 1296 MHZ using a 2.4M dish and a Septum . For RX we are using a WA2ODO preamp and a TS-2000X and a FuncubedongeProplus with Map-65. For TX we have an SSPA 175 W amp at the Dish. The 2.4M dish ( N4QH) is light weight and is being turned by a G-5400 rotor and an Arduino Rotor control unit.   So far 23 intials.

WSJT and Map-65, shown above ( thank you K1JT) makes EME contacts within reach of the average Ham. I have made thousands of EME contacts and worked 580 initials in 72 Countries. I am operating with what is concidered a very moderate station with large trees and homes all around me. Dont be scared to try it , its easier then it used to be, as you gain close to 15db gain with the software. I have worked single 2M antenna stations with only 150W. You dont need the big arrays and high power of the past.... although it sure helps. If you have a single 144 yagi antenna and 100W, you can work some of the big guys off the moon.

My Son ( W2DBL) and I operated from Botswana as A25/W2LPL August 16-19th 2009 and South Africa as ZS6/W2LPL August 11th -15h 2009 on a mini dx-expedtion. As it was the bottom of the Cycle condition were poor and only a dozen contacts were made... maybe next time.

Operated as V22LPL from Antigua April 24th to April 30th, 2010 with 200 contacts. Rig was a FT-857 using a buddie stick vertical antenna as I watch the waves crashing on the beach.

Me and my Son Daniel in front of the EME array, notice all the trees.
