I received my first amateur license in 1967 as WB4IOA. Upon moving to Pennsylvania, I changed that to W3IOA, and then about a year later to W3AF when I upgraded to Extra.

I presently live in Virginia Beach, VA, just about at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay.

I am a computer database consultant professionally (now retired),  a licensed private pilot (Commercial/Instruments/SMEL) and also have a  USCG 100 Ton Masters license

I operate on HF with an ICOM 756 Pro II.  SInce we live in a townhouse community, this feeds  a GAP Challenger Vertical or occassionaly a multi-band dipole in the attic.

Most of my hamming time is spent either on 17 Meters or on PSK31 on almost any band. I hunt just enough DX that you may find me anywhere.

Eight years ago, I  refurbished a 1970 VW Bus,  and in it I run an ICOM ID-5100 D-STAR radio.  I have also installed a pushup mast and auxillary battery with a distribution panel so that the bus can be used as an emergency communications vehicle.  My EMCOM rig in the bus is an ICOM 756 Pro

Please QSL either direct, via the bureau or Logbook Of The World. All my logs are updated to LoTW about once a month. I rarely participate in eQSL.
