Name is Jay - Thanks for looking me up. I got my Tech license in May of 2009 and was issued the call KB3SWJ - but I never used it, as soon as I saw the license on the FCC ULS I changed it to K3JLT - which is the first initials of myself, my wife, and my daughter. I upgraded to General in March of 2014. Even though I liked the K3JLT call, when I had more kids I didn't want to exclude them, and since you can't have 4 or 5 call letters after the 3 I decided I wanted something that represented me a little better.  I stalked the x3EMT call signs until W3EMT was available for assignment, and in October of 2014 I swooped in and got it.

I was certified as an EMT-B in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in January of 2000, while I was in my junior year of high school.  Currently I belong to an ambulance company in southern Lancaster County and am the communications officer as well as the Facebook page creator/admin (http://www.facebook.com/Wakefield88).  I also work at a major university hospital in Philadelphia as a communcations specialist, dispatching ground and rotorwing critical care transport teams.

Because of antenna restrictions, I am mostly only on 2m/70cm.  Ragchew is really why I got into ham in the first place, as I decided to upgrade when the 11m band pretty much became quiet.

I run DStar in the mobile, however I never hear much going on there, so I decided to get into DMR.  I have an OpenSpot at home and use my Tyt MD380 radio with it.  DMR so far is a blast and I am enjoying making contacts from all over.  I frequent the subreddit /r/amateurradio and also /r/dmrradio.  I am working on getting a talkgroup set up on Brandmeister for use by people that frequent those subreddits also.  Once that is live, I will make sure to post here to let people know.

73!

Radios I operate:

ICom ID-880H (mobile)

Yaesu FT-7900R (base)

Tyt MD380 (HT)
