Hi, and thanks for visiting my QRZ page. I was licensed just after high school as WD4KZK and held that call sign for >30 yrs. At one time or another, I have been interested in just about every aspect of amateur radio. My courses of study included several engineering disciplines but I am a physician by trade.Formerly, I worked for General Electricbut am currently based full-time in Virginia. My spouse (KF4RGH) and I enjoy VHF and UHF and have operated from some somewhat unusual and exotic places. Current interests include repeater building, QRP, microwave communications and most digital modes. Living in the Blue Ridge mountains is an enjoyment for us and the elevation doesn't hurt a bit when it comes to DX.

I am currently active on all the HF bands, including 60 meters (which I have activated from a number of countries in Europe, Africa and the Carribean during my travels).

I do enjoy servicing radio gear and have a modestly well-equipped shop for this purpose.

Other hobbies include hiking, biking and performing brass music (trumpet, Euphonium and French horn)
