Mill Springs Academy

Radio Club

13660 New Providence Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30004

Please send QSL cards to the school

Attention: Martha Muir

An SASE would be appreciated.

I am a science teacher and trustee of the Mill Springs Academy radio club. The club call sign, WA4MSA, is very similar to mine. Please note that while my home address is Stone Mountain, GA, the school is located in Alpharetta, GA and is in FULTON COUNTY. For more information on the school, please visit our website: www.millsprings.org/‎

I am presently serving as the Section Youth Coordinator for Georgia.  In this role, I try to help young hams, students, and teachers develop their interest in amateur radio.  If I can help you with this, please let me know.

Club News:

Youth Net: Please encourage young hams and young people interested in amateur radio to join in Youth Net.  Young people will have the opportunity to chat with their peers across the metro Atlanta area, across Georgia, and perhaps across the country via this net.  Youth 18 and under are invited to participate.

The net will meet on Wednesdays beginning at 7PM EDT.

It will be held on the NFARL 145.47 Sweat Mountain repeater.
Echolink participation is encouraged.  Connect to node NF4GA-R (number 560686).

We will also be using a chat room simultaneously with the "on air" net.  Go to: nfarl.dodropin.org to join.

The Youth Net is a project of the Mill Springs Academy RC.

laughARISS  On Sept. 4, 2013, Mill Springs Academy, with help from the local North Fulton Amateur Radio League and ARISS coordinator John Kludt, K4SQC, was able to contact the International Space Station as part of the ARISS program. John's excellent station was set up in the school gymnasium where students from MSA and other schools watched students ask questions of Astronaut Chris Cassidy. There was much excitement and visitors and students were very impressed. For more information on this event, check out northfulton.com

Also, the club was able to participate in the 2013 Fall School Club Roundup with dozens of club members and other students participating.

The August 2015 edition of QST featured a photo of one of our student hams, K4MCB, at our club station.
