Born April 28, 1933 in Waterloo, Iowa. First licensed as an Amateur Novice on 8-30-58.......KN0LPZ, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Received my general license K7CLZ, Tucson, Arizona in 1960 (as best as I can remember). Moved to Texas in 1963 and received the call W5OTT. Moved to Georgia in 1978 and was assigned the call W4OCJ. We moved back to Fort Worth, Texas in 1980, but by then the FCC law had been changed so that you did not receive a "5" call when moving back to the "5" area, but you would keep your existing call. At that time I could have requested getting W5OTT back, but just kept "putting it off". Now I would have to apply for a vanity call. So that is why I still have a "4" call after being back in Texas for over 25 years.

CW QRP is my favorite mode. 40, 30 and 20 meters. Unfortuneately, my CW speed is going down as my age is going up. PSK is also high on my mode list. And, yes, I do work SSB.

Grew up in radio and tv broadcasting. Stayed in the electronics field nearly all of my adult life.
