Began my communications interest as a boy scout in the early 60's achieved "Eagle Scout" as a member of Troop 47 in Utica N.Y. First licensed at 13 years old in 1966 as novice WN2SZY and as general class in 1967 as WB2SZY. Extra class and a call sign change to NT2Q.  With availability of my initials a vanity call sign at age 62 the new callsign is W4RER . I'm an avid CW operator and have achieved DXCC many years ago on several bands and modes. HF CW QRP is a favorite on 15  20 and 40 meters. Also enjoy vhf on 2 and 6 meters. Spent 30 years self employed as an automotive repair shop owner in upstate New York and am now retired. Relocated to Florida and retired to enjoy the hobby and my wonderful family and 9 grandchildren. The station mascot is pictured at the operating position no call sign yet but responds to "Panda". I am the current president of the Friendship Amateur Radio Club here in Dunnellon / Ocala area call sign  N4FRC. Also pictured is the beautiful pristine head springs of the Rainbow River here in Dunnellon only a mile away from my qth.
